Betrayal

She came on tiptoe,
She came on the sly,
Sweat on her forehead,
And on her lips,
A lie.

Guilty

I never want to play the games people play
I never want to hear the things they have to say
I've found everything I need in you
I never wanted anything more
I only want you to believe

If it's wrong to tell the truth
What am I supposed to do?
If loving you with all my heart's a crime
Then I'm guilty

A complete pack of lies

British legislator George Galloway is sworn in before his testimony at the Senate. He is testifying over allegations that Saddam Hussein awarded him lucrative allocations under the U.N. oil-for-food program.

"You traduced my name around the world without ever having asked me a single question, without ever having contacted me, without ever having written to me or telephoned me, without any contact with me whatsoever and you call that justice."

"Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong. And 100,000 people have paid with their lives -- 1,600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies, 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever, on a pack of lies."

The past is still near but...

Here comes the future. There goes the past. It's amazing really, how closely the two co-exist without ever, actually, coinciding. In much the same way, day and night chase each other endlessly round the sky yet they never actually catch up. For a few mysterious moments, each dusk and twilight, they try but fail to merge.

Ultimately though, just like joy and sorrow, they just cannot be together in the same place at the same time. The past is still near. You can still see it if you turn around. But the future is even nearer. So look ahead instead, and keep the faith.

Aspirations

Let's just say today, we will all get everything we had dreamt of, everything we ever wanted. And that will be it. We will need nothing else. For the rest of our lives, we can have it all. Now, how does that feel? Inspiring? Or otherwise?

All of us need our aspirations. Without them, our lives lack colour and excitement. We have to be unhappy from time to time at least, as how else are we ever going to appreciate true happiness when we find it? I guess sometimes we need to be glad of what we haven’t got. It is really only this that provides us with something to look forward to.
