A rainy evening

If you were to read a discouraging weather forecast, what would be your first reaction? Would it deter you from making a journey? Well, I hope not. Hopefully, it would just prepare us all for any awkward conditions we might encounter on the way. :p

At the beginning...

We were strangers, starting out on a journey
Never dreaming, what we'd have to go through
Now here we are, I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you

"Are you sure?"

For more reasons than one, she's the one I want to be with. Suffice it to say, I'm fascinated by everything about this girl and her life. So yes, I'm very very sure.

Can't fight this feeling any longer

I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show
Baby, I can't fight this feeling anymore

The unbending little reed

It seems that the people predicting the worst scenarios have this one common thread - a complete lack of confidence in people and their ability to adapt in times of difficulty. That, I think, is no small factor and is very often the difference between difficulty and disaster.

"The little reed, bending to the force of the wind, soon stood upright again when the storm had passed over." -- Aesop

A little more faith

How much faith does one need to feel secure? Some people assume that it has to be total. If there is so much as the slightest element of doubt, that will gradually spoil all the rest of the trust. But I doubt it actually works this way - which is just as well, for complete conviction is simply illusory.

An edge of uncertainty is a strong sign of sanity and reality. But whatever the case, I guess to summon the magic of belief, one just need ever so slightly more faith than the lack of the same. And that, I think, we've got.

Ms Ditzy Airplant

"Why is Jacky an eggplant? Well... for one, he is one complicated species. Definitely much more troublesome than my airplant. At least to girls. As his good friend, I think Jacky is both beneficial and yet hazardous to girls. Am I contradicting myself? That's how complicated Jacky is. Even I haven't truly figured him out. But I think this eggplant likes being complicated. It adds a little spice to the taste. He's just got to find his sugar. And then it'll be sugar and spice and everything nice." -- Ms Ditzy

The source of discords

... always seemed so small and laughably remote, as to be insignificant. You just don't see it coming. But isn’t it always that way? A crate of opium is dumped overboard, an archduke assassinated, and before anyone can fully appreciate the going-ons, a fuse is lit, a tinderbox explodes, and the world is different.
