Star up in the sky

I'm that star up in the sky
I'm that mountain peak up high
Hey I made it
I'm the world's greatest

And I'm that little bit of hope
When my back's against the ropes
I can feel it
I'm the world's greatest

Circles

Tomorrow will be déjà vu all over again. The familiar pre-paper congregation outside the MPSH, the tense bantering, the unsettled nerves. Admittedly, it's something quite unforgettable.

Reminiscence. November to April. 2004 still seems like yesterday. How did six months so fleetingly passed without us knowing? What have you accomplished this six months? What will you achieve the next six? Most importantly perhaps, where exactly are you heading for the rest of your life?

Quite often, life appears to have come around in a circle. Does this mean that we have been wasting our time? Absolutely not. If we had not begun, we could never have finished.

Sometimes though, I wonder if only we can reduce ourselves down to a mathematical equation. Then we shall know where we are heading. Because mathematics is more than just logic. I suppose it is a desire to solve, to overcome, to end.

And if we can just end. But we can never just end because we'd think that that is a loss. The value of self-importance. You see, there is nothing we want to do about it. We keep going in circles because it is reassuring. Because a circle ends where it begins and begins when it ends. And only then will loss be comforting. We are always starting again.

We persuade ourselves...

... that life ought to be 'ideal' and we then spend a great deal of time wondering why it isn't. We blame ourselves. We resent our situation. That all seems quite un-understandable until we remember that we are people, and not machines.

So little is a tear drop

Yet so much love it unfolds
It can reveal secrets untold
The depth of one soul
An overflow of either passion
Agony or a celebration
Of acquired desires or dreams
One little tear drop means
So much and tells a story
Of love a broken heart memory
Past or a one moment in time
Feelings words can't define
From overwhelming joy or pain
The abundance it holds stands
All in one little tear drop

A conversation at Surtsey

"Understanding it and dealing with it every day are separate problems," Mon Mothma said. "You have always drawn your map with straight lines, Leia, and in that respect, you were ill-prepared for the arcane cartography of the Senate." She smiled gently, fondly. "You are welcome to blame me for that - privately or publicly."

Leia shook her head. "There's no need for such talk. You have nothing to apologize for." She stood and glanced over her shoulder toward the door. "I have to be going. I don't want to leave the children alone for too long."

Mon Mothma rose to her feet as well. "There is something your father told me a long time ago, when I was new to Coruscant and its ways were a mystery. It was valuable to me - perhaps you will find something in it as well. He said, do not expect to be applauded when you do the right thing, and do not expect to be forgiven when you err. But even your enemies will respect commitment - and a conscience at peace is worth more than a thousand tainted victories."

My Destiny

You came in
That's what my little heart was looking for
Laughter in the rain
Feeling like a fool in love again

Oh, the laughter came
When the tears stopped falling
Now all I do is just call your name
You walked in and my heart discovered
That my life would never be the same

I know
You are my destiny
You are my one and only
You gave that joy to me
